Project Islander · Build log

More than a tire choice.

Forty-inch tires are the visual goal. The next phase is to turn that idea into a coordinated build specification.

Define the goal honestly

The Jeep is not currently on the proposed 40-inch setup. Our illustrations show a future direction for Project Islander, and the exact tire, wheel and suspension package remains undecided.

That distinction matters when sharing the project. A rendering can help describe the ambition, but it does not show a completed installation or prove that the pictured combination fits the actual Jeep.

Questions before a final parts list

Our planning brief brings suspension, steering, axle choices and clearance checks into the same discussion. We also want the planned audio installation and outdoor use considered when reviewing the overall vehicle layout.

The next useful work is to establish the actual measurements, intended use and installation requirements with the people who will help specify the build. We are not selecting a lift height from the appearance of an illustration.

Leave room for partner input

We are open to suggestions from suspension and component companies, fabricators and installers. JKS appears in one proposal image, but that is not a sponsorship announcement or a final parts selection.

A useful partnership would help explain the decisions: what was considered, what was selected and how the completed work will be checked. Those details can become content throughout the build.

The next milestone

The next milestone is a coordinated specification and installation plan. Once work is completed, we can document the actual equipment, fitment and observations from testing. Until then, this entry records the direction and the questions still open.
