Project Islander · Jeep / Audio / Adventure

The plan behind 40s.

The goal is a complete Jeep build around 40-inch tires. The suspension, steering, axles and supporting upgrades will be considered together.

A direction, not a finished specification

Project Islander’s off-road vision centers on 40-inch tires for a Hyper Green 2017 Wrangler JK Unlimited. That is the intended direction, not the Jeep’s current tire configuration. Final wheel, tire, suspension and axle choices have not been announced.

The concept illustrations help communicate the appearance we have in mind. They do not establish an approved lift height, fitment guarantee, load rating or engineering specification.

What the planning needs to cover

Before selecting a final package, we want to work through the Jeep as a complete system with qualified installers and prospective component partners. Our planning brief includes:

  • Suspension layout: the intended use, component selection and geometry to review before installation.
  • Steering: the configuration and supporting components to evaluate alongside tire and axle choices.
  • Axles and driveline: the specification to settle as part of the wider build plan.
  • Clearance: the measurements and fitment checks needed for the chosen wheel and tire combination.
  • Braking and road use: the requirements to review before the completed vehicle is used.
  • Added equipment: the planned audio installation and adventure equipment to account for in the vehicle layout.

A clean starting point

The actual Jeep was purchased in Tennessee and is rust-free and rustproofed. Preserving that foundation matters to a project intended for ongoing content, outdoor use and future event travel. See the actual vehicle photos for the Jeep before the proposed upgrades.

Open to technical input

We welcome conversations with suspension, steering, axle, wheel and tire companies about a coordinated build. JKS appears in proposal artwork, but no JKS sponsorship or final suspension package is being announced here.

The next useful milestone is a documented specification and installation plan. Completed changes and test observations will be recorded in the build log; we will not present concept drawings as test results.

Ideas, technical input and partnership conversations are welcome.
