Project Islander · Build log

Start with the real Jeep.

Before the parts list and event plans, there is the Jeep itself. This is the baseline for the Project Islander story.

A recognizable foundation

Our starting point is a Hyper Green 2017 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited. The color, four-door body and outdoor character are already here. This project grows out of real use: open-air drives, trail days and paddleboarding.

The Jeep was purchased in Tennessee. It remains rust-free and has been rustproofed to help preserve it for the long term. That is part of why we see it as a foundation worth building on, rather than just a backdrop for a concept image.

What is already installed

The Alpine Halo11 iLX-F511 is already in the Jeep. It provides a starting point for the proposed audio integration. The dual 15-inch HCCA SPL system is still a goal; we have not installed it or recorded SPL results for it.

What comes next

The next phase is about coordinating the plan: the proposed 40-inch tire setup, supporting suspension and chassis decisions, and the audio system. We want input from prospective partners and the people who would be involved in the installation before the final configuration is set.

The 2027 event program is also in planning. Build readiness, organizer access and agreed partner activity will shape which appearances are practical. None are being announced as booked in this first entry.

What this log will record

We will use dated entries to capture decisions, installations, changes of direction and completed tests as they happen. The goal is to make the progression understandable: what we started with, what we considered and what actually changed.
